Austin Perine feeds homeless, Fans of all things superhero are likely already familiar with crime-fighting crusaders like Wonder Woman, the Powerpuff Girls, and Batman. But four-year-old Austin Perine who goes by the alter ego President Austin has decided that he too can be a superhero, and no spider bite or special gadget is required.
Austin is a 4-year-old resident of Birmingham, Alabama who spends his spare time feeding the homeless, CBS News reported. According to his dad TJ, Austin felt inspired to pursue a heroic calling after watching a television show about a young panda that was left homeless when the mother panda left. After inquiring what it means to be homeless, Austin asked if people could go through the same experience. And when he found out that homeless people are a reality, he announced his intention to use “all his allowance and money they would spend on toys to go toward chicken sandwiches [for the homeless] instead.”
The young hero has since acquired a PayPal for donations, and goes out once a week passing out food to those in need. His dad also reports that Austin leaves each person he meets with some words of wisdom, telling them “don’t forget to show love.” President Austin is already wise beyond his years.
According to his Twitter page, Austin has recently received support from Burger King and Fight Hunger to expand the reach of his food project. He also set up a GoFundMe for a future nonprofit organization called Show Love, which when funded will become a traveling facility with food and resources for homeless people. The page does note that Austin is receiving help from his dad TJ to run the GoFundMe and handle donations.
