Hissing package falls from sky: carrying a bizarre message for Donald Trump.
A Nasa package has dropped out of the sky – carrying a bizarre message for Donald Trump.
The package fell down to Earth over New Jersey, attached to a parachute and making a strange hissing sound, according to police.
When it was examined, authorities found that the message had a strange message for the president written on it. The message led to concerns that it was a suspicious package because it dropped only miles from Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, which is just miles away.
“NASA Atmospheric Research Instrument NOT A BOMB! If this lands near the President, we at NASA wish him a great round of golf,” the message read.
The message led to panic that it in fact did continue a bomb, and agencies including the New Jersey State Police Bomb Unit had to work to resolve the situation.
But it was discovered that the message was genuine: it was an actual Nasa instrument and the engineers who created it had simply intended to leave a pleasant message for the president. It had been written by a summer student employee who had done so in a “misguided attempt to be lighthearted”, the agency told a local TV station.
Local police confirmed that the researchers had apologised for the note and that no charges would be brought in relation to the incident. The student has since been removed from the project.
