Skeletal remains have been found in a submerged four-wheel drive in a lake near Mount Isa.
Mount Isa Police have established a crime scene at Lake Moondarra after a vehicle submerged in water was reported to police yesterday afternoon (December 18).
The submerged vehicle is identified as a green Toyota Landcruiser, and police believe it is linked to missing Mount Isa woman, Rosemary McLean.
Rosemary McLean was last seen at the Junction, Lake Moondarra at 9am on Saturday, January 14.
She was with her green, 1999 Toyota Landcruiser, Queensland registration 925-MDM, and two dogs.
Police have stated the registration on the submerged vehicle could not be seen and they are yet to extract the vehicle from the water.
Police divers will arrive in Mount Isa on Thursday December 20 to start an underwater search of the area.
