Teen drives car into sinkhole, escapes unscathed.
A Minnesota teen is unharmed after driving into a sinkhole that opened up after a bout of heavy rainfall.
The unidentified 16-year-old boy reportedly was driving to work when he drove into the sinkhole in Renville County, located in south-central Minnesota.
Drone footage captured by the Renville County Sheriff’s Office and posted to Facebook shows the car nose-down in the giant hole that had opened up in the center of a road.
“Another example of the power of Mother Nature!” the department wrote. “This 16-year-old driver was very lucky to have escaped without any injuries thanks in part to his seatbelt and airbag. Remember, always BUCKLE UP; you just never know what situation you might encounter!”
According to the teen’s grandmother, the boy escaped the car by climbing out the window, CBS Minnesota reports.
