Tropical Storm Sally strengthens, expected to make landfall near New Orleans

Tropical Storm Sally is expected to be a Category 2 storm at landfall near New Orleans on Tuesday morning.

Hurricane warnings have now been issued from Grand Isle, Louisiana, northeast to Ocean Springs, Mississippi, including New Orleans, Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas. Sally continues to strengthen across the Gulf of Mexico with sustained winds of 50 mph.
